What an exciting week it has been for 3L!
This week, 3L enjoyed a fantastic trip to Leeds City Museum. The children explored the different exhibits before taking part in a special Ancient Egyptian workshop. They were fascinated to see a real mummy, Nesyamun, and learnt more about life (and beliefs about the afterlife) in Ancient Egypt. The children represented the school brilliantly and asked some thoughtful questions.
Back in school, the children proudly finished their 3D Egyptian-inspired boxes, carefully completing and evaluating their final designs.
In Outdoor Learning, the class worked with Mrs Fletcher to plant seeds, learning about what plants need to grow and taking responsibility for caring for their plant.
In Writing, the children wrote imaginative postcards as if they had travelled back in time to Ancient Egypt. They carefully included the prepositions before, after, during, because of and in which, which they have been practising over the last two weeks.
In History, the children learnt about the end of the Ancient Egyptian civilisation, exploring how and why this fascinating period in history came to a close.
It has been a wonderful week of hands-on learning, creativity and curiosity in Year 3!
