Spring 2 Week 2

Spring 2 Week 2

This week has been a lovely week of being outdoors in the small window of sunshine we had and celebrating Year 6's last World Book Day with us!

We began the week with our fantastic outdoor learning sessions and it was lovely to feel some sunshine on our faces after such a long winter. We used the outdoor area to make dragon eggs and create large scale art - we really enjoyed the collaborative element of this session. In the middle of the week, we continued our cricket sessions with Miss Nicholas, thinking about how all our skills come together within a small game. The children showed great perseverance and it is clear we have some fantastic cricketers in the year group. Thursday saw us celebrate World Book Day with a visit from author Susannah Lloyd who shared the wonderful world of Badgers Are GO! with us - even proving that Mrs Hayton is a Badger Operated Person!! We also had a massive array of fabulous costumes from demons to minions, Lottie Brooks to the Lorax and the animals of the Hundred Acre Wood to characters from One Piece. All Year 6 staff commented on how fantastic it was to see so many of our Year 6 children get involved; it really was a wonderful, book filled day!

We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and we look forward to much more learning and smiles in Week 3!
