Autumn 2 Week 5
This week, Year 4 enjoyed an exciting visit to the Royal Armouries in Leeds to take part in a Greek Mythology workshop. During the workshop, the children learnt about the Oracle of Delphi and how messages were believed to be delivered from the god Apollo. They then took part in Spartan warrior training, where they practised using a shield, learned how Spartans would “steal” as part of their training, and completed a series of fitness challenges. The children also had great fun acting out the dramatic story of Perseus and Medusa, bringing the myth to life through role-play. To round off the day, everyone watched a combat display between a Roman and a Celt! It was a memorable trip and thoroughly enjoyed!
On Thursday, the children had a trip to Leeds Playhouse to watch a Christmas Carol. Throughout the week, we have been practising lots for our Christmas play which is being filmed next week! The children have all been amazing and we are looking forward to the next couple of weeks.
