Amidst the Christmas chaos, we have been busy in Year 3.
Over the past 2 weeks, we have done lots of science. Our first lesson looked at the different types of skeleton (endoskeleton, exoskeleton and hydrostatic skeleton) and we did an activity where we had to decide what type of skeleton each living thing had. In our next lesson, we learnt about the purpose of a skeleton (to protect, to move and to stay up-right). We then learnt about different bones in the body and their roles. Finally, we looked at the purpose of the muscles and created a moving arm-model.
In DT, we have been sewing our bags using the backwards running stitch. This has taken a lot of time, concerntration, resilience and determination and we are all so pleased with our final results.
In computing, we have continued to improve our skills of making an animation using scratch. The children have been learning how to make a sprite move, how to add sound and how to programme multiple sprites to move at once.
In maths, we have continued to practise and learn the 2, 5, 10, 3, 4 and 8 times tables through a range of activities and games.
