This week has a been a busy one, with 2 Christmas performances and a theatre trip to see Stickman, plus lots and lots of learning and a showcase of learning for parents thrown in for good measure. We are very proud of the children's beautiful singing and amazing dance moves in the show - we thought they did a fantastic job!
Despite all the fun, we have still been doing other lessons as well. In maths we have been continuing to learn about shapes - naming and sorting 2D shapes.
We have been finishing off our very special moving picture DT project. In Geography, we have been continuing to learn about Mugurameno village in Zambia and learnt this week about how people in the village live with animals. We learnt that some animals are dangerous such as lions, elephants and crocodiles and the villagers must protects themselves and their crops by using chilli fences and crocodile fences. We learnt that some animals are raised for food such as goats and that they had pets such as dogs living in the village.
In science, the children learnt how to distinguish carnivores, omnivores and herbivores by looking at an animals teeth and they learnt that carnivores manly have sharp teeth for eating meat and herbivores have flat teeth for chewing grass and plants.
We recapped our learning of pants are private in PSHE where the children labelled body pasrts using anatomical names and designed their very own pants with messages such as NO means NO and Pants are Private.
