This week in History, Year 3 pupils explored the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt by mummifying tomatoes! This hands-on activity helped the children understand the mummification process and why it was so important to the Ancient Egyptians. The class really enjoyed getting involved and learning through practical experience.
In Writing, the children focused on understanding prepositions. They took part in a range of fun, active tasks where they had to pretend to be a preposition, using movement to show position and direction. This lively approach helped to deepen their understanding and made learning both memorable and enjoyable.
In Maths, the children started their new unit on measurement. They practised measuring lengths using metres (m), centimetres (cm), and millimetres (mm), developing their confidence in choosing appropriate units and measuring accurately. The children then measured objects in the classroom using metre rules.
In Outdoor Learning, the children enjoyed birdwatching, observing different birds in their natural environment, listening out for their calls and developing their observation skills while connecting with nature.
