Spring 2 Week 3

This week, we have been enjoying lots of exciting learning across the curriculum. In Writing, we have begun creating our own Viking sagas, using powerful vocabulary and adventurous story ideas inspired by the saga based on 'Biorn'.

In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of percentages, learning how they relate to fractions and decimals and using them to solve a range of problems.

Our Reading lessons have focused on the book The 1000 Year Old Boy. We have been exploring the story in depth and using inference skills to think carefully about the characters and how they develop throughout the book.

In Science, we celebrated Science Day with a fantastic workshop from the company NOVA. We saw some amazing experiments, including making elephant toothpaste, and using a vacuum to make marshmallows shrink and grow. It was a fun and memorable way to explore scientific ideas (see our pictures below)!

In DT, we have started an exciting new topic on mechanical toys, where we will be learning about different mechanisms and beginning to design our own moving toys.

It has been a fantastic week of curiosity, creativity and discovery!
