This week the children have been lucky enough to take part in a Science workshop where they got to see some really cool experiments involving marshamallows in a vortex and unstable liquids growing and turning into foam. We also headed outside for our science lesson to spot the signs of Spring as part of our seasonal change observations we do over the year.
In English, the children have been practising using question marks and exclamation marks and had a go at writing sentences using these types of punctuation. They also began to plan their very own alien stories.
In maths, we continued with our place value unit, learning to count in groups of tens and ones and partition numbers into tens and ones. With lots of practice using the base 10 equipment, the children are becoming more and more confident with this.
In DT this week, the children had a go at making prototype bridges out of paper. They worked together to fold and roll paper so that they created a bridge top that was strong, stable and rigid and could hold some objects without falling down.
In PE, we continues our Cheerdance unit and learned some still moves and drills. The children had a go at sequencing some of their moves together to create short routines.
