Year 2 had a fantastic trip to Abbey House Museum, where we stepped back in time to learn all about Victorian seaside holidays. This exciting visit links to our next topic: The History of Seaside Holidays and How They’ve Changed Over Time.
The children explored the museum’s recreated Victorian streets, learning what life was like over 100 years ago. A highlight was discovering how seaside holidays became popular in Victorian times – from travelling by steam train to paddling with bathing machines!
We even got to dress up in traditional Victorian clothes, which helped us imagine what a holiday in the past would have felt like.
