Autumn 2 Week 6

In Maths, we continued our work on fractions, focusing on adding and subtracting fractions with mixed numbers. The children developed their understanding by learning how to break the whole, building confidence and problem-solving skills through practical and written methods. ➗

In English, we began writing a Christmas narrative inspired by a Coca-Cola advert. The children used expanded noun phrases to vividly describe the journey of a letter, bringing festive scenes and emotions to life through their creative writing. ✉️🎄

In DT, our exciting restaurant evening project came to life. The children prepared and served a delicious tomato-based dish to parents, demonstrating teamwork, organisation and presentation skills. The event was a huge success, raising over £800 as part of their enterprise project. 🍅🍽️

In Science, we explored gears, levers and pulleys. The children investigated how these mechanisms work and how they make tasks easier, linking their learning to real-life examples and practical activities. ⚙️

During our final Outdoor Learning session, we embraced the festive season by creating Christmas ornaments. The children reflected on their outdoor learning journey while enjoying a calm, creative end to the term. 🌲✨
