Year 5’s Space Prints – Inspired by Benji Torrado Cabrera! 🎨🪐✨
During Thursday’s Art Day, Year 5 created some incredible space-themed prints as part of our art project this half term. We’ve been learning about the work of print artist Benji Torrado Cabrera, who uses etched metal plates to create detailed and layered prints.
To emulate his style, we revisited printing techniques we’ve used before, including the use of negative space. Using polystyrene tiles, we designed and printed a range of patterns inspired by the colours and textures found in galaxy images. By layering these prints, we aimed to capture the beauty and mystery of outer space.
The children worked with great focus and creativity, and the results were fantastic! Take a look at our photos to see their amazing artwork! 🌌🖌️🪐
