Spring 2 Week 6

Spring 2 Week 6

Another busy week here in Year 6 with the usual mix of fun, work and time outdoors!

In maths this week, we have been continuing with our new topic around area, perimeter and volume. We have been focussing on finding the area and perimeter of rectilinear shapes and triangles. We continue to work on our arithmetic skills every day and the children are absolutely smashing it.

In writing, we have been creating a set of instructions using imperative verbs to inform the reader how to catch our terrible creatures which children created based on the short film Alma. There were certainly some weird and wonderful plans and the children thoroughly enjoyed the chance to be completely creative and go as wacky as they wanted!

We have also finished our outdoor learning for this half term by spending time in nature, creating riddles and generally enjoying the fresh air and appearance of the sun for what feels like the first time in forever!

We hope you all have a fabulous Easter break and manage to spend some much needed quality time together. As always, thank you for all your support and we look forward to seeing you all in the Summer term which is always very exciting in Year 6.
