  • Multi-activity morning for KS2

    Wed 23 May 2018
  • Sponsored Fun Run

    Mon 21 May 2018
We had great weather for this year's annual Springbank Fun Run as the sun was shining and there was barely a cloud in the sky! The fun run is all about enjoying physical activity and it certainly looked like everyone did just that. Each lap was approximately 1/3 of a mile.  So many children ran/walked over 10 laps even many of the younger children. It was an amazing morning's work and some children would have happily continued into the afternoon had we let them!  This is always such a fantastic whole school event and it was lovely to have so many parents and family members not only join us to support the children but also join in.  Thank you to all families who have been collecting sponsorship money and have already delivered it to school. For those people still collecting sponsorship money, please could this be rounded up and sent in to school as soon as possible. Well done everybody!

    Tue 27 Mar 2018

What a fantastic night we had at the Leeds Young Film Makers Golden Owls Awards at Leeds Town Hall.  Everyone arrived looking extremely smart and enjoyed spending time with the variety of characters, including Storm Troopers, who were waiting to meet everybody at this red carpet event.

A group of eight children from across all KS2 classes had worked with Mr Bradshaw to produce a film called 'Trapped' which is a fictional story about a girl who spend too much time on her phone so ends up trapped inside the internet.  Our film was shortlisted in the KS2/KS3 fiction category and I'm delighted to announce that we won!  The children were thrilled as they went up onto the stage to receive their award.  A big congratulations to our Golden Owls team who worked really hard to produce a great film.

  • Sports Relief

    Fri 23 Mar 2018

On Friday 23rd March, we had fun raising money for Sport Relief.  School Council had asked the children to come dressed in wacky clothes- we have some fantastic creations.  All the children took part in a 'Wake up, Shake up' sessions and ran a mile at the end of break time. Thank you for your donations; together we raised  £315.62 which will all go to support this great cause.

  • Year 5 residential to Herd Farm

    Fri 16 Mar 2018

Year 5 enjoyed three days on residential at Herd Farm this week.  They took part in a variety of outdoor activities- an assault course, mountain biking, mountain boarding and bushcraft.  They had a go at the high ropes, which was a real challenge and took courage but they  impressed us with their efforts.  Many of the activities encourage teamwork and the children were amazing at communicating and supporting each other throughout.  In the evening they enjoyed chilling out together, playing games, reading and colouring.  On the second night each class held a talent contest which was great fun.  All in all, it was a fantastic few days for each class creating memories that we hope will last a lifetime!

  • World Book Day

    Fri 09 Mar 2018
We finally managed to hold World Book day on Friday and everyone had a great time.  The children spent the day taking part in a variety of reading activities as well as just enjoying time spent reading for pleasure, something we are passionate about at Springbank.  The book character costumes were amazing!
