Our Reception children have had a fantastic start to their school journey! Over the past few weeks, they have settled into their new routines beautifully, showing great confidence and enthusiasm each day. They have enjoyed getting to know their new teachers and have already formed some lovely new friendships along the way. It has been wonderful to see them exploring their new environment, learning through play and engaging in a wide range of activities. Their teachers are incredibly proud of how well they have adapted and the amazing work they are already producing. Take a look at some of the pictures below to see what they have been getting up to!
Year 2 had a wonderful time on their trip to Skelton Grange! The children put their survival skills to the test, working brilliantly in teams to solve challenges and build some very impressive dens. We were so proud of the way they encouraged each other, shared ideas and communicated so clearly. There was also plenty of laughter and excitement as the children dashed through the woods, hiding from pirates and enjoying the freedom of outdoor play. It was such a joy to see their enthusiasm and teamwork shining throughout the day!
For the last three years we have run our KS2 Filey trip in September rather than July, which has proved successful. The beach is much always much quieter…we have been the only school there compared to July when there would often be 5-10 other schools on the beach. It is also such a perfect day for the children to spend time with friends, who they may not have seen over the summer holidays. The day was spent building sand sculptures, digging holes, playing games and paddling in the sea. The children had a great day so it was perfect way to spend a day at the start of a new school year.
