Year 1 pupils enjoyed an exciting and unforgettable trip to Snozone as part of their learning topic on Explorers, Which links to our learning of hot and cold places. The day was fully immersive and gave the children a chance to experience what life might have been like for famous explorers such as Robert Falcon Scott, who journeyed to the South Pole. Wrapped up warm, the children took part in three activities: sledging, polar rescue, and setting up camp. During sledging, pupils learned how explorers travelled across icy landscapes, while the polar rescue challenge encouraged teamwork and problem-solving in cold conditions. Setting up camp helped the children understand how explorers survived and stayed safe in extreme environments. The trip brought classroom learning to life and helped the children deepen their understanding of hot and cold places in a fun and memorable way. Year 1 showed fantastic enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the day, making it trip to remember.
